The gambler - discussion

Perhaps somebody could help me with this.

I think we have to work out how many days the gambler can gamble with his money. If he starts with a million and gambles a thousand each day, how do we work out the number of days?

When we get the number of days, how do we change that to years. I know there are 365 days every year, so what is 1000 days? Is it part way through a year? And was there a leap year?
